PROJECT OVERVIEW
L&K was engaged by the City of London Corporation to replace difficult-to-access lighting within the West Plaza stairway area at One London Wall.
The installation required specialist access arrangements due to the location of the existing fittings around the escalators and surrounding public areas.

THE CHALLENGE
The existing lighting was positioned in areas that were difficult to reach, including fittings located above two escalators.
A suitable access solution was required to allow the lighting works to be completed safely without compromising the surrounding architectural environment.
THE WORKS
Specially designed scaffolding was used to provide access to lighting positioned above two escalators within the West Plaza stairway.
L&K also used its own mobile access tower to reach and replace the remaining lighting within the area.
PROJECT OUTCOME
The works enabled the existing difficult-to-access lighting within the West Plaza stairway to be replaced using access solutions suited to the challenging location.
